Description
Small, weeping, widely spreading deciduous tree (H 6-9 m, W 4-6 m). Crown broadly dome-shaped, picturesque. Bark white with black spots, roughly fissured. Young shoots dark brown to grey, glossy. Branches open, distinctly hanging. Leaves broadly triangular to rhomboid (3-7 cm), with pointed tip, with a slightly serrate margin, mid dark green, lighter underneath, autumn colour bright yellow. Flowers tiny, in hanging yellow-green inflorescence, catkins. Flowering period: April. Undemanding tree, adaptable to different soils, withstands occasional drought and urban conditoins.
