Description
Small, very slow growing, compact evergreen shrub, conifer (H 0,2-0,5 m, W 0,3-0,7 m). Bark grey. Crown broadly spherical to pillow-shaped, flattened, regular, dense. Branches flexible, upright to widely spreading; short, densely branched. Needles (3-6 cm) pointed, in pairs, stiff to slightly spiraly bent, bright yellow during autumn and winter, otherwise mid to dark green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence, on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (2-6 cm), elongate to egg-shaped, grey-brown. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils; withstands semi-shade. Very tolerant of snow, wind and urban conditoins.
