Description
Small, very slow growing, compact evergreen shrub, conifer (H 0,3-0,5 m, W 0,4-0,7 m). Bark grey. Crown broadly spherical to flattened, irregular, picturesque. Branches flexible, upright to widely spreading, sparse. Needles (3-6 cm) pointed, in pairs, stiff to slightly spiraly bent, dark green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence, on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (2-6 cm), elongate to egg-shaped, grey-brown. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils; withstands semi-shade. Very tolerant of snow, wind and urban conditoins.
