Description
Small, very slow growing, compact evergreen shrub, conifer (H 0,3-0,6 m, W 0,3-0,6 m). Bark grey. Crown broadly spherical, flattened, regular, dense. Branches flexible, upright to widely spreading; short, densely branched. Needles (3-6 cm) pointed, in pairs, straight to slightly spiraly twisted; needles variegated in spring, green with yellow cross-wise stripes, turning green in summer. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence, on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (2-6 cm), elongate to egg-shaped, grey-brown. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils; withstands semi-shade. Very tolerant of snow, wind and urban conditoins.
