Description
Large, broad, slow growing, eventually multi-stemmed, deciduous tree (H 12-18 m, W 8-12 m). Crown broadly egg-shaped, regular. Bark yellow-white to yellow-brown, with orange-pink spots, attractive. Young shoots rough, warty. Branches upright to widely spreading. Leaves ovate (4-7 cm), with a pointed tip, with a shallowly serrate margin, dark green, lighter underneath and with glandular hairs; autumn colour bright yellow. Flowers tiny, in hanging yellow-green inflorescence, catkins. Flowering period: April. Undemanding tree, adaptable to different soils, withstands occasional drought and urban conditoins.
