Description
Small, widely spreading deciduous tree (H 4-5 m, W 4-5 m). Crown broadly spherical. Bark dark grey-brown. Leaves broadly heart-shaped to kidney-shaped (10-15 cm), with obtuse tip, smooth, glossy, vivid green. Flowers numerous, in small dense inflorescence, pea-like (1 cm), white. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits dry, thin, elongated pods (6-8 cm), dark brown, persist on the branches into winter. It grows well in sufficiently drained soils, in distinctly sunny sites. Easily withstands urban conditions, heat and drought.
