Description
Small, compact, moderately growing deciduous tree (H 4-5 m, W 4-5 m). Crown broadly spherical to dome-shaped, dense. Bark dark grey-brown. Leaves broadly heart-shaped (8-14 cm), smooth, slightly glossy, bright green, autumn colour yellow. Flowers numerous, in small dense inflorescence, pea-like (1 cm), bright lilac-pink. Flowering period: April-May. Fruits dry, thin, elongated pods (6-8 cm), dark brown, persist on the branches into winter. It grows well in sufficiently drained soils, in distinctly sunny sites. Easily withstands urban conditions, heat and drought.
