Description
Large, bushy, fast growing deciduous shrub (H 3-5 m, W 3-4 m). Branches upright to open, densely branched. Leaves broadly heart-shaped (5-7 cm), smooth, light green. Flowers in rich, upright panicles (up to 12 cm), star-shaped (0,5 cm), flower buds dark pink, open flowers light pink, intensely scented. Flowering period: April-May. Undemanding, healthy and well-growing shrub. Grows best in fertile, humus-rich soils in sun. Good for cutting. Syringa hyacinthiflora is a cross between S. oblata and S. vulgaris.
