Description
Medium-sized, upright, broad deciduous shrub (H 1,5-3 m, W 1,5-3 m). Crown rounded, irregular. Bark on young shoots hairy, grey-green to red-brown, later dark grey to black, fissured. Leaves ovate (4-6 cm), wrinkled, green. Flowers in clusters, catkins (1-3 cm), yellow. Flowering period: March-April. Seeds numerous, very tiny, with grey-white hairs. Ripening time: May. A tough plant, suitable for low wind-bariers and for stabilizing soil; grows well also in poor soils.
