Description
Large, bushy, fast-growing deciduous shrub (4-6 m), eventually small, multi-stemmed tree. Growth distinctly broad (up to 8 m), side branches horizontal, slightly hanging. Leaves broad-oval, wrinkled, dark green, underneath blue-green, autumn colour red. Flowers green, tiny, in round inflorescence, surrounded by 4 very wide bracts (up to 8 cm), white. Flowering period: May-June. Fruit round (1,5-2 cm), fleshy, raspberry red, edible. Attracts birds. Highly resistant to some diseases. The variety is a cross between Cornus kousa and C. nutallii.
