Description
Small, compact, slow growing evergreen shrub (H 0,7-1 m, W up to 1 m). Branches very densely branched, upright to open. Leaves narrowly ovate (3-5 cm), smooth, glossy, dark green, underneath light green to grey-green, dark coppery red to dark brown-green in winter. Flowers tiny, in panicles (6-8 cm), cream white, scented. Flowering period: June-July. Fruits globose (5-7 mm), smooth, glossy black. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds. Undemanding shrub, withstands pruning, wind, urban conditions and summer heat. Especially good for low, formal hedges.
