Description
Large, upright deciduous conifer, tree (H 25-35 m, W 9-15 m), distinctly single-stemmed, crown at first regularly conical, in older trees more broad. Bark dark grey-brown to dark red-brown, flaky. Branches horizontal in partly hanging, slighly arching navzgor. Needles (1-3 cm) in bundles of 10-30, thin, light green, autumn colour distinctly bright yellow to orange yellow. Flowers not remarkable, male (yellow) and female (pink-red) flowers separate. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (3-4 cm), egg-shaped, dark brown, scales flat. Attracts birds.
