Description
Large, dense, upright evergreen shrub or a small tree (H 3-6 m, W 3-4 m), crown broadly pyramidal. Branches partly upright, later horizontal, eventually slightly hanging, bark dark olive green, on older branches grey. Young shoots dark violet. Leaves ovate to broadly lanceolate (4-7 cm), leathery, smooth, with an entire or slightly serrate margin, glossy, dark green. Male and female flowers separate, high yielding variety, needs no polinator. Fruits globose (4-6 mm), fleshy, smooth, glossy bright red, autumn and winter attraction. Ripening time: September-October. Attracts birds. Needs a sheltered position.
