Description
Small, low, widely spreading, evergreen ornamental shrub (H 1,2-1,5 m, W 2,5-4 m). Leaves very narowly lanceolate (9-12 cm), smooth, glossy, light to mid green, lighter beneath. Flowers in upright racemes (10-12 cm), simple (1 cm), white, scented. Flowering period: May (partly), main flowering: August-September; outstandingly freely flowering. Fruits globose (1 cm), fleshy, glossy, dark red to black. Ripening time: September-November. Grows best in a sheltered position, protected from dry, cold wind, in moderately moist, deep, fertile soils. Easily withstands summer drought and heat, shade, pruning and salty soils. Very cold-tolerant.
