Description
Small, low, widely spreading, evergreen ornamental shrub (H 1,2-1,5 m, W 2,5-3 m). Leaves narowly lanceolate (6-10 cm), with a distinct, finely serrate margin, smooth, glossy, dark green, lighter beneath. Flowers in upright racemes (10-12 cm), simple (1 cm), white, scented. Flowering period: May, freely flowering. Fruits globose (1 cm), fleshy, glossy, dark red to black. Ripening time: August-September. Grows best in a sheltered position, protected from dry, cold wind, in moderately moist, deep, fertile soils. Easily withstands summer drought and heat, shade, pruning and salty soils. This variety is a descendent of 'Otto Luyken'.
