Description
Medium-sized, upright, compact, slow growing, evergreen ornamental shrub (H 1,5-2 m, W 0,8-1,2 m). Leaves egg-shaped to lanceolate (7-12 cm), smooth, glossy, at first light coppery red, later mid to dark green, lighter beneath. Flowers in upright racemes (10-12 cm), simple (1 cm), white, scented. Flowering period: May. Fruits globose (1 cm), fleshy, glossy, dark red to black. Ripening time: August-September. Grows best in a sheltered position, protected from dry, cold wind, in moderately moist, deep, fertile soils. Easily withstands summer drought and heat, shade, pruning and salty soils. A very good hedging plant, outstandingly healthy and well-growing.
