Description
Medium-sized, upright, narrow, compact, evergreen ornamental shrub (H 2-3 m, W 1-1,5 m). Leaves egg-shaped to lanceolate (7-12 cm), smooth, glossy, dark green, lighter beneath. Flowers manj numerous, in upright racemes (10-12 cm), simple (1 cm), white, scented. Flowering period: May. Fruits rare, round (1 cm), fleshy, glossy, dark red to black. Ripening time: August-September. Grows best in a sheltered position, protected from dry, cold wind, in moderately moist, deep, fertile soils. Easily withstands summer drought and heat, shade, pruning and salty soils. A very good hedging plant.
