Flowers in upright racemes (10-12 cm), simple (1 cm), white, scented. Flowering period: May. Fruits globose (1 cm), fleshy, glossy, dark red to black. Ripening time: August-September. Grows best in a sheltered position, protected from dry, cold wind, in moderately moist, deep, fertile soils. Easily withstands summer drought and heat, shade, pruning and salty soils. Variety 'Ani', together with 'Gabi' and 'Josa' is a part of a new, Hungarian cherry-laurel group, outstandingly tolerant to drought, heat and winter cold, and of more comact, narrow growth.
