Caucasian pincushion flower

Small, upright, clump-forming deciduous perennial (H 40-60 cm, W 30-40 cm). Leaves ovate (10-20 cm), elongate, simple or pinnately dissected, hairy, dark grey-green. Flowers in flat flower-heads (4-6 cm), light blue-violet to lilac. Flowering period: June-September. Attracts butterflies and bees. Undemanding, long-flowering perennial for sunny sites. Easily withstands heat and drought. Good for cutting.
