Description
Small, compact, very slow growing evergreen shrub, conifer (H 1-1,5 m, W 1-1,3 m). Bark grey-black. Crown rounded to broadly ovoid, dense. Branches upright to open, short, densely branched. Buds light brown, almost white, decorative in winter. Needles (8-15 cm) firm, straight to slightly bent, pointed, in pairs, dark green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (4-10 cm), elongate egg-shaped, light grey-brown to grey-yellow. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils.
