Description
Small, compact, narrow, evergreen tree, conifer (H 5-8 m, W 1-2 m). Bark grey-black. Crown columnar, at maturity conical to narrowly ovoid. Branches upright to open, short, densely branched. Buds light brown, almost white, decorative in winter. Needles (8-15 cm) firm, straight to slightly bent, pointed, in pairs, light green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (4-10 cm), elongate egg-shaped, light grey-brown to grey-yellow. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils.
