Description
Small, narrow, upright, moderatly fast to fast growing evergreen tree, conifer (H 6-10 m, W 1,5-2 m). Bark grey-black. Crown narrow, columnar, at maturity somehow more broad, eventually slightly wide-spreading, irregular, picturesque. Branches upright to slightly open. Needles (6-10 cm) firm, straight to slightly bent, pointed, in pairs, dark green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (4-10 cm), elongate egg-shaped, light grey-brown to grey-yellow. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils.
