Description
Small, upright, broad, slow growing evergreen tree, conifer (H 4-5 m, W 3-4 m). Bark grey-black. Crown broadly conical to broadly pyramidal, regular. Branches upright to open. Buds light brown, almost white, decorative in winter. Needles (6-15 cm) firm, straight to slightly bent, pointed, in pairs, distinctly dark green. Flowers separately arranged in male and female inflorescence on the same plant. Flowering period: April. Fruits cones (4-10 cm), elongate egg-shaped, light grey-brown to grey-yellow. Requires dry, sufficiently drained soils.
