Description
Small, broad, upright deciduous ornamental tree (H 5-8 m, W 4-6 m). Leaves egg-shaped to lanceolate (7-12 cm) with a finely serrate margin, light green. Flowers simple, star-shaped (3-5 cm), white. Flowering period: February-March. Fruits elongate ovate (6 cm), fleshy, light green, softly hairy; edible seed inside the fragile, light brown stone. Suitable for processing. Ripening time: September, early. Moderately high yield. Attracts butterflies and bees. Needs a sheltered position and well-drained soils.
